Mark Banovetz is a partner in the firm's Chicago office. He concentrates his practice in the areas of aviation, insurance coverage, and general civil and commercial litigation, including construction, professional liability, tort litigation, and appellate work.

In addition to his law degree, Mark holds an Airman Certificate as an FAA certified, instrument rated private pilot. He is an active pilot and aircraft owner. Mark is a member of the Naper Aero Club residential airfield in Naperville, Illinois and is the former President of the Naperville Flying Club, where he worked on a volunteer aircraft maintenance team for more than five years assisting in the maintenance of NFC aircraft.

Mark has substantial experience in the areas of aviation law and aviation litigation and is an active member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators. He is regularly involved in aircraft accident investigations, tear down inspections, and related aviation forensic and aviation mechanical work.

Mark is also a member of the Lawyer Pilots Bar Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and the Chicago Bar Association Aviation Litigation Committee.

As a frequent speaker on issues related to aviation law and insurance coverage, Mark has spoken at private engagements for insurance companies and aviation groups, as well as bar association seminars. Mark also has written on the subject of lawyers' professional liability and insurance coverage for the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and is a Contributing author for the Illinois Institute For Continuing Legal Education. He is a member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations.

Born in Evanston, Illinois, Mark received his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University, magna cum laude. He later went on to receive his law degree from DePaul University College of Law where he was a member of the DePaul Law Review.
