Durga M. Bharam

Durga Bharam is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office and chairs the firm’s Employment Law Group.

Durga concentrates her practice in commercial and employment litigation and consultation. Her specialty is in employment law where she provides both consultation and litigation services to corporate and insurance clients.

Durga is the past Co-Chair of the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel’s Employment Law Committee and a former board member. She is also on the Steering Committee of the Defense Research Institute’s Employment Law Committee and Diversity Committee. Durga is also active in various legal organizations including the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms where she is an Officer and Board Member, and the American and Chicago Bar Associations.

Additionally, Durga has been recognized as one of the top labor and employment attorneys in Illinois, being recognized as a Super Lawyer in Chicago magazine and Illinois Super Lawyers® magazine. As a frequent author and lecturer on employment-related issues, Durga has written and lectured on a national and local basis on a myriad of employment-related topics.

Durga received her law degree in 1990 from Northwestern Law School where she was an editor for Northwestern’s Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. Durga is licensed in Illinois and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar.
