David L. Kabat

David Kabat is a partner in the firm's Chicago office. He specializes in commercial real estate law, including acquisition, development, construction, financing and leasing as well as condominium law, franchise law, and financial institutions law.

Dave has prosecuted and defended numerous cases involving partnership disputes, corporate dissolutions, injunctive relief, breach of contract and fraud claims, lender liability claims, mortgage foreclosures and mechanics lien claims.

Dave also represents developers and condominium and homeowner associations in the preparation of and amendments to condominium declarations as well as counseling clients concerning condominium and homeowners association operations.

Dave is admitted in Illinois, the United States District Courts for Northern (Federal Trial Bar Member) and Central Illinois, as well as before the Second, Seventh and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeal.

Dave is a member of the American, Illinois State and Chicago Bar Associations.

Dave is also a member of the ABA's Forum on the Construction Industry, Builders Association, Associated General Contractors of America, ASA-Chicago, and the Commercial Arbitration Panel of the American Arbitration Association. Dave is frequently called upon to arbitrate contract, franchise and other commercial disputes. He received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Notre Dame.
