Ralph J. Kooy

Ralph Kooy is a partner in our Chicago office where he practices primarily in the area of surety and fidelity insurance. His concentration also includes commercial litigation, general civil litigation, business and commercial enterprises.

Ralph obtained both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Illinois. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and the U.S. District Court. Ralph is a member of the American, Illinois State and DuPage County Bar Associations as well as the Chicago Surety Claims Association. Additionally, Ralph has been named a 2005 "Illinois Super Lawyer," which is a distinction only awarded to the "Top Attorneys in Illinois." This recognition is listed in the May 2005 issue of Chicago magazine's "Illinois Super Lawyers" Special Advertising Section, as well as Illinois Super Lawyers magazine.

Ralph has authored various papers including Procedural and Practical Considerations Relating to the Confession or Guilty Plea of the Fidelity Bond Principal (Eastern Bond Claims Association, 1999); Vicarious Liability for Employee Malfeasance (Chicago Surety Claims Association, 2000); and Associated Risks Of Principal Financing (Chicago Surety Claims Association, 2002).
