Barry Moss is a partner in the Bolingbrook office. He focuses his practice on municipal and local governmental law including cities, villages, school districts and park districts; land use and zoning; and finance including municipal bonds.
Barry is licensed to practice in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois including Trial Bar and U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. He is a member of the American, Illinois State, DuPage and Will County Bar Associations.
Born in Chicago, Barry received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University and his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law. He was Co-author of "Municipal Litigation," Illinois Municipal Law, Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Ch. 16, 1987, 1993, 1997 and 2000 and "Variations, Special Uses and Appeals from Administration Decisions", Illinois Land Use law, Chapter 3, Institute for Continuing Legal Education, 2004. Additionally, Barry was Chairman of the Home Rule Attorneys Committee for Illinois Municipal League, 1989-1992.
Barry has recently been named a 2007 "Illinois Super Lawyer" in the area of cities/municipalities, which is a distinction only awarded to the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Illinois. This recognition is listed in the February 2007 issue of Chicago magazine's "Illinois Super Lawyers" Special Advertising Section, as well as the 2007 Illinois Super Lawyers® magazine.
