Michael Polachek is a partner in the firm's Wheaton office. He focuses his practice on closely held businesses and their owners, the sale and purchase of businesses, industrial and commercial real estate, zoning, administration of decedent's, disabled person's and minor's estates and estate planning.
Mike was a founding partner of Darnall, Polachek & Associates, which merged with Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney and Priess in May 2000. He is licensed to practice in Illinois and is admitted before the U.S. District Court of Northern Illinois. In addition, he is a member of the DuPage County, Illinois State and American Bar Associations.
Mike has recently been named a 2005 "Illinois Super Lawyer" in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions, which is a distinction only awarded to the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Illinois. This recognition is listed in the May 2005 issue of Chicago magazine's "Illinois Super Lawyers" Special Advertising Section, as well as Illinois Super Lawyers® magazine. In addition, Mike has been recognized by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in closely and privately held business law in a survey by Law Bulletin Publishing Company and listed on LeadingLawyers.com.
Mike attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and Luxembourg and received his undergraduate degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Mike is a past chairperson of the Economic Development Commission of the Village of Bartlett, Illinois, a past president of the Rotary Clubs of Franklin Park and Addison, Illinois and a past trustee of the Northwest Suburban Mass Transit District as an appointed representative of the Village of Bartlett, Illinois.
