Todd Schenk is a partner in our Chicago office. His national practice concentrates on advising and representing insurance companies in coverage disputes, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property, media liability, first party property, and product liability claims. Many of his cases require the defense of common law and statutory bad faith claims. He also handles a variety of commercial litigation matters. Todd is Co-Chairman of the firm's Claims Handling and Extracontractual Liability practice group.

Todd is licensed to practice in Illinois and before the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Seventh Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Insurance Coverage, Young Lawyers, and Industry-wide Litigation Committees of the Defense Research Institute, Phi Beta Kappa and Order of the Coif. Additionally, Todd has been recognized as one of the top insurance coverage attorneys in Illinois for the past four years, most recently in the February 2008 issue of Chicago magazine, as well as the 2008 Illinois Super Lawyers® magazine.

A frequent author and lecturer, Todd has written and spoken on a variety of topics, including pre-tender defense costs, lost insurance policies, allocation, advertising and personal injury, good faith claims handling, choice of law, extracontractual liability, and e-discovery. He is also the Editor of the firm's periodic newsletter, Extra! Extra!, which addresses developments in the law of bad faith.

Born in Joliet, Illinois, Todd received both his undergraduate degree (with high distinction) in 1992 and law degree (magna cum laude) from Indiana University - Bloomington in 1995. While at Indiana University School of Law, he served as the Notes Editor for the Journal of Global Legal Studies.
