Dana Hentges Sheridan is a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She has over a decade of experience as a trial attorney specializing in complex, multi-party civil litigation. She practices in the areas of bad faith, insurance coverage (notably, coverage for products liability, toxic and mass torts, environmental, first party property, and professional liability claims), litigation of insurance coverage issues and insurer defenses, and general litigation.
Ms. Sheridan was a contributing author to Chapter 38, “Understanding Errors and Omissions Insurance,” New Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide, Volume 3 (2007).
Additionally, Ms. Sheridan has authored or co-authored: “Good Faith - A Field Guide for Troops in the Trenches,” Defense Research Institute, 2001; “Step Away From the Laptop, Please,” published in the Closing Argument section of Los Angeles Lawyer magazine, 2007; “The Impact of a Global Avian Flu Pandemic on the Insurance Industry: A Discussion of the Type and Potential for Claims Under Commercial General, First-Party Property, and Life Insurance Policies,” “For the Defense” magazine, Defense Research Institute, May 2007. Ms. Sheridan is particularly interested in and has spoken on issues pertaining to the topic of insurance coverage for continuous or progressive injury and/or catastrophic losses under all types of insurance coverage.
Ms. Sheridan attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1992 with a double major in English and Philosophy Applied Ethics and a minor in Psychology. She attended William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota and received her J.D., cum laude, in 1995. She was admitted to the Minnesota State Bar and to the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota in 1995 and to the California State Bar and the Central and Northern Districts in 2000.
Ms. Sheridan is also a member of the American Bar Association. In 1996, Ms. Sheridan was appointed to the Minnesota State Bar Association Committee on Women in the Legal Profession, where she assisted in the drafting of findings and recommendations. She also served on the Judicial Endorsements Committee while a member of Minnesota Women Lawyers. Currently, she maintains her license to practice in both California and Minnesota and is an active member in the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
In 2007, Dana was named a Southern California SuperLawyers Rising Star.
