Paul S. White is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office. He focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage and bad faith litigation. He also represents defendants in commercial litigation.
Paul's insurance coverage practice includes advising and representing insurers in bad faith litigation and in insurance policy disputes including first party property policies, general liability coverage, errors & omissions insurance, and media liability insurance. He also advises and represents insurers in subrogation actions on property losses. His litigation practice includes the defense of commercial business litigation, products liability, construction defect, and intellectual property disputes.
Paul is the co-chair of the firm's Extra-Contractual Liability and Claims Handling Practice Group.
In addition to his insurance practice, Paul advises entertainment and technology companies on management of intellectual property risks.
Paul is the immediate past Chair of the Defense Research Institute's (DRI) Insurance Committee, a former chair of its Publications Committee, and the former Editor of the DRI's quarterly newsletter, Covered Events.
Paul is listed in A.M. Best's Directory of Recommended Attorneys. He is the author of "Understanding Errors & Omissions Insurance" found in Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide (December 2007, Ch. 38). He regularly speaks and publishes for groups such as DRI, PLRB/LIRB, PLUS, and the National Business Institute on insurance coverage issues including, among others, intellectual property, bad faith, professional liability, employment, environmental, and construction defects.
Paul received his undergraduate degree in English from Brigham Young University and his law degree from the University of Utah. While attending law school, Paul was a member of Phi Delta Phi and the National Moot Court Team.
Paul is licensed to practice in California and is admitted to U.S. District Court, Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern California, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and has appeared pro hace vice in numerous courts throughout the United States.
