Marcos Cancio is an associate in our Chicago office. He is licensed in Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Marcos' practice is focused on advising and representing insurance companies in complex insurance coverage matters throughout the United States, including claims involving mass torts, environmental pollution, product liability, construction defect, bad faith, bodily injury, property damage, and advertising injury.
Marcos obtained his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law where he received a CALI Award for Excellence in Transnational Litigation. He was awarded Best Brief at the Loyola University Chicago Moot Court Competition, and was selected to represent Loyola at the National Hispanic Moot Court Competition. During law school, Marcos served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Michael T. Mason of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Marcos received his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Marcos is a native Spanish speaker and is member of the Chicago Bar Association, Hispanic National Bar Association and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois. Marcos also serves as a member of the Associate Board for the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms.
