Barry T. Bassis concentrates his work with the firm in the areas of insurance, reinsurance and commercial litigation. Barry has drafted numerous coverage opinions for insurance companies on a wide variety of issues. He also has extensive experience in appellate practice and has argued over 200 appeals in federal and state courts.
Barry attended the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, where he was research editor for the Buffalo Law Review and won the Charles W. Webster Memorial Award for Most Valuable Editorial Contribution to the Law Review. Barry has authored and co-authored numerous articles on insurance law in the New York Law Journal, the PLUS Journal and Business Insurance. He also guest lectures on the subjects of reinsurance and insurance and has experience training arbitrators at ARIAS. In his free time, Barry spends time contributing music and theater reviews to New York area newspapers. He is an active member of the theatre critics associations, North American Travel Journalists Association, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle.
