Joanna Crosby is an insurance coverage attorney in the firm's New Jersey office. She concentrates her practice on insurance related litigations, arbitrations, and appeals. She is also involved in reinsurance, construction matters, products liability and employment. Joanna provides advice to clients with emergent as well as long term strategy concerns in the insurance industry. Her clients include both admitted and surplus lines insurers who seek her advice and litigation experience involving various types of coverage including but not limited to general liability, OCIP or wrap up policies, professional liability, specialty lines of coverage including medical professional liability policies, employment practices liability policies, municipalities, public officials and law enforcement policies, program books of business for specific industries, and excess coverage. Joanna has successfully represented clients in federal and state courts and arbitration tribunals.
Joanna is an active member of the firm’s Claims Handling and Extra-contractual Liability and Reinsurance practice groups. She is an editor of and frequent contributor to the firm’s monthly publication CGL Dispatch. Additionally, she is a frequent contributor to the Specialty Lines Advisory, a monthly publication distributed to the firm’s specialty lines clients. She is an active member of the New Jersey Bar Association, Insurance Law Section having served as the Programming Coordinator in 2009-2010 and currently holding the position of Vice Chair.
This year, Joanna has successfully argued three cases before the New Jersey appellate court, including the matter Township of Irvington v. Coregis Insurance resulting in a favorable ruling for the insurer of no coverage owed for a $5M verdict against the Township of Irvington due to the insured’s breach of the cooperation clause.
