Kathy Malamis' practice is concentrated in the areas of insurance analysis, insurance coverage litigation, bad faith and reinsurance. Kathy has successfully litigated and mediated complex insurance-related disputes throughout the country. Kathy has experience representing insurers in state and federal court, at both the trial and appellate level, in matters involving various types of insurance contracts. She has represented insurers in coverage disputes stemming from personal and advertising injury claims, consumer protection claims, and asbestos and environmental claims.
Kathy has been recognized as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers® magazine each year since 2008. Kathy is active in diversity and gender initiatives both within and outside the firm. Since 2009, she has co-chaired Tressler's Women's Initiative, a group devoted to the advancement and professional development of female attorneys within the firm. Kathy serves on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Coalition of Women's Initiatives in Law, an organization comprised of women leaders from more than 30 local law firms. She is also a member of the firm's Diversity Steering Committee, and is an active participant in the firm's diversity and inclusion efforts.
While in law school, Kathy served as the Notes and Comments Editor of the DePaul Law Review, and as an assistant legal writing instructor.
She is proficient in Greek.
