Monica C. Mendes is an insurance coverage and litigation attorney. Her practice focuses on complex insurance coverage issues in the areas of commercial general liability, errors and omissions liability and excess and umbrella coverage. She handles a wide variety of insurance related disputes under first party and third party policies, including personal and advertising injury, property damage, bodily injury, professional liabilities, construction defect and environmental and toxic torts. Monica also provides coverage advice and monitoring of underlying litigation for complex claims.
Monica was the Notes & Comments editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. Monica published “A Low Threshold of Guilt: Interpreting California’s Fetal Murder Statute in People v. Taylor,” 39 Loy. L.A. Rev. 1447 (2006). She also assisted with researching and drafting Chapter 38, “Understanding Errors and Omissions Insurance,” New Appleman Insurance Law Practice Guide, Volume 3 (2007).
