NATIONALLY ACCLAIMED LAWYER JOINS TRESSLER, SODERSTROM, MALONEY & PRIESS, LLP

Michael R. Delhagen is a nationally acclaimed professional liability insurance coverage attorney whose practice includes directors and officers liability, financial institutions professional indemnity, lawyers professional indemnity, general partnership liability and private equity fund and management liability insurance. Michael served as coverage and monitoring counsel in matters such as In re Enron Corporation Securities Litigation, In re WorldCom Corporation Securities Litigation and In re Mutual Funds Investment Litigation. Michael has litigated significant coverage disputes in state and federal courts and has participated in coverage arbitration before the American Arbitration Association, in matters including In re HealthSouth Corporation Securities Litigation, In re Merck & Co., Inc. Securities, Derivative and ERISA Litigation and In re Clarent Corporation Securities Litigation. He has worked as coverage and monitoring counsel for clients in the U.S., Bermuda and London insurance markets for more than 10 years. Prior to joining the firm Michael was a partner with Duane Morris, LLP in New York, NY.

Michael will greatly enhance our specialty lines coverage capabilities in our New York office, joining Joe Monteleone, Barry Bassis, and Daneen Berres in that office. In addition, Michael will work with our other lawyers in Chicago, Newark and on the West Coast to bring a geographically broad based and highly skilled team to service the most complex needs of our insurance clients.

Joseph P. Monteleone was honored at the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS) D&O Symposium in New York City on February 7th in recognition of his dedicated service. Joe was given the PLUS Award for Initiating and Chairing the First D&O Symposium.The PLUS D&O Symposium has become the premier event in the world for those involved with D&O coverage and defense matters. Attendance at this year's symposium reached 1,300 participants.

Joe has been a member of PLUS since 1988, and has participated in every one of their annual International Conferences and all of their D&O Symposia. In addition to chairing the first D&O Symposium, he co-chaired the two subsequent Symposia and has been instrumental in devising that event's format and content which continues to this day. Joe has also been a frequent speaker at PLUS events, such as the Symposia, the International Conferences and the local Chapter events. He has also been a frequent contributor of articles to the PLUS Journal. Joe has served on the PLUS Board of Trustees from 1997 through 2003. He chaired the PLUS Education Committee from 1999 to 2001. He was Co-Chair of the Curriculum Committee from 2004 through 2006, and continues to serve as a member of that Committee.

In 2003, Joe was also the recipient of the annual and prestigious PLUS 1 Award in recognition of his accomplishments in the insurance profession and contributions to the PLUS organization.

Partners Shaun Baldwin and Judith Fournie Helms have been named to the list of the top 50 women lawyers in Illinois by Super Lawyers Magazine. This honor is awarded to the 50 women with the highest point totals in the nomination, research and peer review processes that Super Lawyers goes through each year in selecting attorneys for their publication.

Partners John O'Driscoll and Andrew Purcell and associate Kathy Karaboyas Malamis have been named "2008 Rising Stars" by Illinois Super Lawyers Magazine.

Lara Anderson has been appointed to the Condominium Association Institute's board of directors.

The Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms has recently elected Marcos Cancio to serve as an Associate Board member.

Seventeen TSM&P attorneys have been named Illinois Super Lawyers which can be seen in the 2008 Illinois Super Lawyers magazine. Nominated by their peers, only the top 5% of practicing attorneys in Illinois are named Illinois Super Lawyers. Our attorneys are listed under the following practice areas: Insurance Coverage, Business Litigation and Construction/Surety.

Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney & Priess, LLP is proud to announce that Michaela Sozio and Dana Hentges Sheridan were named to the Southern California 2007 Super Lawyers® - Rising Stars.

Howard Priess and Daniel Formeller were named to the April 2008 Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel list as top business litigators in Illinois.

John Huston, for civil litigation defense, and Jacqueline Criswell, for intellectual property litigation, were named to the August 2008 Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel list as top attorneys in Illinois in their respective fields.


TSM&P New Partners

Donald Elder, Kathleen Elliot, Andrew Purcell and Dana Sheridan have been named partner effective January 1, 2008.

Donald Elder works out of the Chicago office. He focuses his practice on insurance coverage and commercial litigation.

Kathleen Elliot is in our Bolingbrook office where her practice deals with municipal law, zoning, development, land use law, real estate and litigation.

Andrew Purcell practices in the areas of litigation involving personal injury, products liability, construction, surety and fidelity law, and complex litigation from the Chicago office.

Dana Hentges Sheridan works out of our Los Angeles office and practices in the areas of bad faith, insurance coverage and defense, products liability, professional liability, toxic and mass torts, and general litigation.


TSM&P New Associates

Jill A. Ellman has joined our team in the New York office.

Shama Patel has joined the firm as an associate on our aviation, commercial litigation and insurance coverage analysis teams. Shama will practice in the Chicago office.

Rae M. Williamson, an insurance coverage and litigation attorney, has joined TSM&P as an associate in our Chicago office.

Amber C. Coisman has begun work with TSMP as a insurance coverage litigation and commercial litigation associate in our Chicago office.

Shannon Dunne has become an associate in our Chicago office. Shannon is a products liability, tort and general civil litigation attorney.

Linda M. Corrie an insurance coverage analysis and litigation attorney, has joined TSM&P as an associate in our Orange County office.

Jennifer S. Perdigao has joined TSM&P as an associate in our Los Angeles office. Jennifer will be practicing in the areas of insurance coverage and aviation.

Gina L. Madden has recently been added as an associate to our municipal litigation team in the Bolingbrook office. Gina was admitted to the Illinois State bar in 2003.

Monica Mendes has joined TSM&P as a Los Angeles office associate. Monica will be practicing in insurance coverage analysis and litigation. Monica was a law clerk for TSM&P before becoming an associate.

We are pleased to announce that Mohammed Mandegary has joined the firm as an associate in our Orange County office. Mohammed will be practicing in the areas of insurance coverage, bad faith litigation and civil litigation.


Retirements

Jay H. Tressler, one of the founding partners of Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney and Priess, has announced his retirement from the firm and the formation of his own mediation service. Mr. Tressler was admitted to the Law practice in Illinois in 1967 following his graduation from the University of Illinois College of Law. In 1986 he helped to co-found Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney & Priess. Jay has fond affection for the law firm that continues to bear his name despite his departure. However, in the interest of neutrality, Jay has separated from the firm and will conduct mediations under the name of Tressler Mediation Services.

In The News

For the third-year running, attorneys at Tressler, Soderstrom, Maloney & Priess LLP participated in the annual “Diversity In The Law” Program. This Program provides minority and non-traditional undergraduate students who are considering a career in law an exciting opportunity to explore various legal institutions in Chicago. TSMP was invited to host a group of students for an afternoon visit. The Firm provided the students with a tour of the Firm and the chance to directly interact with a diverse panel of attorneys, including: Andrew Boris, Marcos Cancio, Devin Maddox, Brian Sanchez, Shevonn Smith, Ryan Taylor, Charmagne Topacio and David Yuen. The panel presented the students with information regarding the Firm and their varying experiences from law school through their present careers. The Diversity In The Law Program is one of several events that TSMP participates in yearly to showcase its commitment to diversity and attract talented candidates of diverse backgrounds. P>
