Nikolai Guerra is a commercial litigation associate with an emphasis on intellectual property and employment matters, including trademark, copyright and cyberliability litigation, and employment litigation, Nikolai has also litigated matters involving contract disputes, covenants not to compete, breach of fiduciary duty, and business torts, and he appears frequently before federal and state courts on behalf of his clients. He also regularly counsels clients in the protection and enforcement of their trademark and copyright assets, including conducting clearance searches, prosecuting registrations and licensing negotiations. He also counsels companies on compliance with state and federal employment laws.
Nikolai also contributes articles to the firm’s Internet and Intellectual Property Update, a quarterly newsletter, and the Specialty Lines Advisory.
Prior to joining the firm, Nikolai served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri in Kansas City, Missouri from 2008-2009. In this position, he researched complex legal issues and assisted the Court in drafting orders/opinions resolving a variety of civil matters. While in law school, Nikolai was an extern for Judge Ann Claire Williams in the U.S. Court of Appeals 7th Circuit.
